How can I expect Acupuncture to help me?
Acupuncture works by stimulating your body's natural ability to heal itself. Studies have shown that treatment increases the production of the 'feel-good' chemicals seratonin and endorphins, which are responsible for mood and wellbeing. Brain scans taken during Acupuncture treatments have also shown that the needling of points has specific and predictable effects on brain activity.
Most people receiving Acupuncture report enhanced general wellbeing, including improved sleep, digestion and mood in addition to the beneficial effects on their presenting condition.

Does Acupuncture really work?
This is the most common question I am asked. The answer, quite simply is yes.
A growing and significant body of evidence-based clinical research proves that acupuncture works. As a result it continues to increase in popularity, with recent endorsements from the NHS, NICE (National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence) and the World Health Organisation further proving its credibility.
Acupuncture treatment has existed in China for over 3000 years and was brought over to the West in the twentieth century by Doctors who, on visits to China, had witnessed its amazing ability to heal.
Feeling generally out of sorts?
Even if you haven't got a specific or diagnosed health condition, Acupuncture may be able to help you. If you have generally poor health, energy, mood or motivation then Acupuncture may provide the boost you need.
Traditional acupuncture is an holistic healthcare system that regards pain and illness, whether physical or mental, to be a sign that the body is out of balance. I focus on the individual, not their illness, and see all symptoms in relation to each other. Because every patient is unique, two people with the same western diagnosis will each receive different acupuncture treatments.
